Spring here in Utah is a beautiful time of year as we watch everything come back to life. Following are a few tips from Landscape Supply of Utah, for your spring landscaping and you can follow the link to read the full article.
During these months, weed control should be applied over the entire lawn, which includes pre-emergent and post-emergent options.
Lawns should be lightly fertilized, to ensure proper growth.
Lawns should be inspected for diseases and insects and treated accordingly.
Routine maintenance includes trimming, mowing and edging lawn areas, as well as watering where needed.
All debris, weeds, branches, leaves, etc., should be removed from the planting beds.
Applying both pre-emergent and post-emergent weed control, as needed, is highly recommended.
All planted beds should be inspected for abnormalities, pests, insects and disease. If anything abnormal is discovered, it should be promptly treated.
Applying a fresh layer of mulch to the areas will help minimize future weed breakouts.
Weed, fertilize, trim and deadhead all perennial plants and flowers. Annual flowers that have died should be removed from the planted beds.
